About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent of Construction Engineering Mobile & NPI, the role provides support and guidance to the team focussed on the definition and management of construction and project/program construction strategies, standards and frameworks to ensure the construction process is optimised to enable safe and efficient management of construction operations.

You will assist a team of professionals located across BHP Iron Ore operations tasked with managing a broad variety of NPI (Non-Process Infrastructure) & Mobile projects, including but not limited to; Fleet procurement and replacements Decarbonisation & HV Power projects, Community and Social Value, Housing and Camps, Water Assets, Aerodrome and Travel investments.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Safely and predictably delivering successful project outcomes on time and within budget
  • Ensuring senior stakeholders are engaged and aligned to portfolio execution deliverables.
  • Building excellent business partnerships across multiple disciplines
  • Ensure capability to deliver the Project Portfolio with competent resources and prioritisation. 

Whilst this role is site based there is a requirement to travel within WAIO operations on multiple project fronts.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be a construction supervisor or delivery Professional with a demonstrated background in leadership and project delivery within a mining or Industrial environment. 

You are output focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve outstanding results. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective business partnerships.

As the successful candidate, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experienced in a similar role with significant on-site or execution exposure
  • Focus on strategy and confident in stakeholder Influence that can articulate value
  • Solution focused with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Maintains a wide network of impact, integrates functions, operations and regions and solves complex challenges to drive strong functional/asset integration across BHP 
  • Monitors HSE compliance and applies appropriate methodologies/standards and legislation to deliver effective construction projects across BHP. 
  • Leads a team focussed on ensuring the execution of safe operational objectives & service contracts are met, liaising between BHP and its employees, the vendor company and its workforce including sub-contractors and independent contractors Coaches and develops team leaders / teams to deliver high performance.
  • Supports the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk.
