Contracts & Procurement Manager - Global Development Projects
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to work on a first class and diverse portfolio of renewable infrastructure projects.
This position is responsible for leading the provision of Contracts and Procurement management to support the development and successful execution of mega project contracts and procurement strategies, inclusive of global engineering and consultancy partnership agreements as with management of contracts to support project studies.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Leading the development of contract and procurement strategies for projects, obtaining cross functional endorsement for such strategies and managing the execution to ensure the project objectives are realised.
- Commercial advice to the global front-end development team including on different contract and delivery models.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of contracts for projects including engineering and consultancy services agreements and engineering procurement and constructions agreements in the context of large-scale renewable infrastructure project delivery.
- Develop, coordinate and evaluate market engagement for contract packages including managing tender activities in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Identify and evaluate key risks and managing input from other functions as appropriate (e.g. engineering, legal etc.) to support project schedule and budget
- Identify and maximise cost saving and continuous improvement opportunities
- Claims and dispute resolution advice (including payment claims, contractual disputes, time related claims, defective work and variations).
- Working closely with other disciplines in particular engineering and project management, legal and cost control.
- Prepare reports, analysis and advice to support decision-making for, and make recommendations to, Executive / Senior Management
Qualifications and skills required:
- At least 15 years’ experience in contract management, including mega project experience.
- Tertiary qualification relating to commerce, law or quantity surveying, desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple transactions and manage competing deadlines.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and the capability to work with initiative and independence.
- Strong commercial acumen and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent Leadership skills with the ability to empower and influence.
- Ability to behave in accordance with Fortescue values to lead with humility, drive to achieve stretch targets, generate ideas, act with integrity and work as part of a team.
