About the Role

As the maintenance Contract Specialist, you will play a vital role in NPI compliance team assisting the maintenance compliance supervisor with managing contractors on multi-site and locations across NPI water and facilitates across the Bowen Basin (QLD) and providing guidance and support to Contract Owners and Site Stakeholders.    Accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Ensuring contractor compliance with the requirements of the BHP ‘Our Requirement for Contractor Management and Contractor Management Framework
  • Provide contractor reports and reporting capabilities to business functions and vendors to assist with monitoring & delivery of business information. 
  • Provides contract support for continuous improvement.
  • Provide administrative support to the Contract Owner Portfolio, ensuring a productive output and strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly monthly and quarterly reports including contract review meetings. 
  • Assist the Compliance Supervisor with compliance activities.
  • Verification of set requirements under ‘Our Requirement for Contractor Management’ through regular audits.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated work experience with contractors or contract management.
  • Experience within the coal mining resources industry.
  • Maintenance and compliance experience is required. 
  • Exceptional engagement and collaboration skills in managing stakeholder relationships. 
  • Interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment. 
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational management skills.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products.
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and sustainable development
