About the role
We are seeking expressions of interest for an energetic and performance-driven individual to join the Robe Valley Operational Excellence team as a Contractor Management Advisor.
In this role you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and support delivery of Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s (RTIO) Contractor Management strategy across Robe Valley Mine Operations.
Coach and mentor our Robe Valley Company Representatives in the 5 steps of Contractor Management
Support and assist department Leaders on compliance to CM 5-step process
Monitor and coach Contract Partners compliance to our 5-step CM process and RTIO HSE Standards and Procedures (include attending Shift Starts, LiF, CRM activities)
Work with Robe Valley CM Specialist to identify areas of improvement in Contractor Management and assist with Robe Valley’s journey to achieve Best Operator
Support and assist CM Specialist and Robe Valley Procurement Business Partner in delivering procurement best practice
Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
Collaborate with the Contractor Management peer network to share best practice in CM and ensure consistency
Support Robe Valley Company Representatives in mentoring and coaching Contract Partners and Subcontractors to ensure compliance to CM 5-steps and HSEQ MS system
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
Support and assist department leaders with the Contractor Engagement Solutions systems (CES)
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)
An ability to engage, influence and form productive relationships spanning several layers of operational organisations
A diverse skill set and experience in one or more of operational leadership, Contractor Management, Maintenance, Procurement, HSEC, HR or Business Improvements
Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously
Previous experience in working with Pilbara Aboriginal Businesses, leading contractors in the field, being a leader in the mining industry and RTIO Contractor Management is preferred
Awareness in the application of the CM processes – exposure to managing and onboarding contractors
