About the role
We are looking for a Contractor Management Improvement Specialist to support the delivery and continual improvement of Iron Ore’s contractor management strategy. This role is offered as a Perth based role (Mon-Fri) with regular commute to our Pilbara operations.
In this role you will be partnering with leaders from our Operational and Technical Support Division to improve business performance through coaching and continuously improving the contractor management system. The role will require in field verification activities to check the Contractor Management 5 Step Process is effectively understood and applied, and to allow identification of best practice activities for replication.
This role is a great opportunity for an energetic and performance driven individual who has well developed communication skills and is ready to make a difference to the experience of our supplier workforce. As part of the Contractor Management Improvement team, reporting to the Contractor Management Improvement Partner, you will be:
- Driving assurance and improvement in our operational and supplier contractor management performance.
- Working closely with HSE, Procurement, and frontline teams to ensure safety performance is sustained, there is best practice cash performance in place, and suppliers are supported by coaching in contractor management disciplines and Safety Maturity.
- In-field monitoring of the 5-step CM process and RTIO HSE standards and policies to identify improvement opportunities and areas of best practice for replication.
- Partnering with relevant Divisions to create business unit plans and assist in closing performance gaps.
- Providing subject matter expert input to Significant Incident (SI) and Potentially Fatal Incident (PFI) investigations involving suppliers.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team (standard for all job adverts)
- Knowledge of contractor management systems and processes.
- Experience working with, or for, contractor suppliers favourable.
- Relevant qualifications (preferably degree qualified)
- A diverse skill set and experience in one or more of the areas of operational leadership, procurement, Contractor Management, HSE, or Business Improvement
- A passion for working with people and driving genuine partnerships with our suppliers and stakeholders

Where you’ll be working
This role is Perth based but will require ad hoc travel to site.
