ABOUT GEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on a family friendly Monday to Thursday 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns. FIFO out of Brisbane on alternative rosters will be considered.

Domestic relocation to Darwin or Cairns from anywhere in Australia provided.

As the Contractor Management Principal, you will be responsible for coaching and shaping the culture of the team and GEMCO business, and act as a steward for the Contractor Management standard and procedures.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Coach the team and GEMCO stakeholders to have in-depth knowledge of the management of contractors with focus on safety management systems
• Lead embedment of the Contractor Management System of Work across the operation
• Lead collaborative relationships and positively influence the culture of the Contractor Management team
• Implement improvement initiatives to streamline and leverage key opportunities in contractor management

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrated capability in the following:

• Proven experience working in a similar role within the Mining or heavy industry
• Experienced in Contractor, HSE or Risk Management Systems
• Proven track record of managing the delivery of change and roll out of business processes
• Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills for the purpose of engaging with internal and external stakeholders to influence key business outcomes

Qualifications for this position are:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant degree, diploma, or trade such as commerce, supply management, safety management, or engineering (Desirable)
