About NSW Energy Coal

The Mt Arthur Coal Mine is an open-cut coal mine located approximately 6 km south-west of Muswellbrook, in New South Wales. It is the largest individual coal production site in the Hunter Valley. The site produces coal for domestic and international customers in the energy sector and produces 10 per cent of the nation’s annual exports. The Mount Arthur open pit black coal mine in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales is the largest such operation in the region that it shares with olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and a nearby residential community.  

Location

This is a residentially based permanent full-time position located in Muswellbrook, working a Monday to Friday, day roster.

You will be in close proximity to the Newcastle / Hunter Region which provides arguably one of the best locations to work in mining.  The region boasts world-class beaches and wineries and Australia's seventh largest city. Newcastle is located only a 2-hour drive from Sydney.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a passionate, meticulous, and technically sound Contract Coordinator to join the CHPP Maintenance team.

Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent, the Contracts Coordinator role is vital in ensuring the Contractor Management Framework for contract partners engaged to perform work within the infrastructure team.is executed to the advantage of the business in driving cost effective quality adherence amongst other key criteria.

This role requires use of applied technical skills, application of highly demonstrated knowledge and application of contractor management framework skills and highly established business acumen to drive cost effective quality adherence with the capacity to ask the right questions and work autonomously to achieve set outcomes. 

You will build efficient and effective working relationships across all levels of the operation and communicate knowledge and skills to your audience with conviction and trust with ease. 

In this role you will:

  • Manage and oversee compliance with the Contractor Management Framework
  • Report on the overall health of CHPP service contractors
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives to drive process, cost and productivity improvements
  • Review scopes and Off Contract Engagement Tool  for contractors as required.
  • Forecast, plan and schedule Contractor Management meetings and deliverables
  • Assist with the duties and obligations of a contract owner as outlined in the Contractor Management Framework for a category of services
  • Develop, complete and maintain work scopes, risk assessments and Contractor Management documentation in collaboration with stakeholders, including any changes
  • Conduct field verifications of contract partner activities

About You

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent data analysis skills to drive comparative evaluation of contractor scopes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to achieve results through great teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-skilled team
  • Experience in the management of or working with contractors
  • You will have flair for business acumen
  • You will have knowledge of the 1SAP process
  • A commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail
  • Experience in Mining, Oil or Gas is desired. Experience with heavy equipment in other industries will also be considered
