Ashton - Owned by Yancoal, Ashton is an underground mine and coal handling preparation plant located in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Control Room Operator is a key member of our production team. Reporting to the shift Undermanager, the Control Room Operator responsibilities will include;

• Monitor the mine environment both surface and underground via the Citect computer system and responding to change
• Provide first aid to the workforce including carrying-out post incident testing
• Communicating with production and engineering personnel to achieve shift targets
• Ensure rapid response to actual or potential loss causing incidents or situations

Skills and Experience

• First aid qualifications
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the same or similar position
• Detailed experience understanding underground mine operations and processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Expert planning and coordination skills
• Sound knowledge of Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation
