Title: Control Systems Specialist

Work location: Predominantly Perth based, site travel as required

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

We are presently looking for an experienced Control Systems Specialist to join the Green Fleet Development team

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Daily reporting
  • Key interface between Engineering and Site Team
  • Operation of the prototype NH3 Locomotive systems on a daily basis
  • Daily maintenance and troubleshooting of NH3 prototype Locomotive
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and in line with HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Ensure work is carried out to the highest quality standards and in line with QA systems
  • Coordination of prototype refuelling activities

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Experience in operating control systems with PID
  • Industry experience in hydraulic systems, with capability of reading, interpreting and troubleshooting large P&ID’s
  • Relevant trade qualifications
  • Instrument tubing experience
  • Sound knowledge of hydraulic and gas principals  
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with multiple disciplines, including; hydraulics, piping, processing, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
  • Site based experience
  • Proven pressure testing experience
  • Proven understanding and ability to identify hazards
  • Understanding of PLC (predominantly Siemens & Woodward) HMI operations and interface is desirable
  • Experience in working with dangerous goods
