The role of the Electrical Technician (maintenance execution) is to be responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of fixed plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities include executing maintenance and shutdown plans for all fixed surface and underground electrical equipment on site

Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta) Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off Reporting to: Electrical Supervisor Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

In This Role You Will:

  • Control and monitor site Control System e.g. PLC’s hardware & software, Citect.
  • Provide Technical Stewardship of the site’s High Voltage and OT systems, including Rockwell PlantPAx DCS.
  • Ensure any electrical engineering design is safe, effective, and reliable for the business needs.
  • Team member of multiple technical disciplines to provide engineering support for improving equipment performance, capability, and reliability.
  • Support the Plant Operations team in their “ownership” of plant functional areas.  Promote collaboration within the team to harness the multi-discipline skills available. 
  • Skill and knowledge sharing are paramount for success.
  • Deliver improvement opportunities to achieve expected benefits (safety, cost, throughput, or quality).
  • Actively participate in site inspections & audits, providing visible safety leadership to improve the safety culture and performance throughout the projects.
  • Coordinate improvement task activities ensuring they are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Provide strategic and tactical plans as required, as well as Risk Assessments and Management of Change documents.
  • Actively promote a culture of continued improvement around reliability, maintenance, safety and cost. Review any innovations and as applicable apply them to the project or operation to increase productivity and, reduce cost.

About You:

  • Proven experience as expert technical support across electrical and Instrumentation engineering, and process control systems (Rockwell Plant Pax).
  • Proven ability ensuring that the provisions of the Electrical Act SA 1996 and AS/NZS 3000:2007 are adhered to.
  • High level of computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office suite particularly Project and/or CMMS, EAM, ERP, SAP solutions.
  • Previous experience in a role of Control Systems Engineer supporting a multidiscipline team.
  • Proven working knowledge of Australian Standards in relation to electrical installations and maintenance.
  • Well-developed time management and prioritisation skills, with high attention to detail, excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership skills to work with and across all teams and areas on site.
  • Previous ability to exercise sound reasoning to analyse information and data, make decisions and overcome problems to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience being able to adjust or change best to meet the needs of the situation or environment to deliver upon project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members in the process control systems.
