About the role

We are looking for a Coordinator Construction to support the Mainline Service Train operations, responsible for maintaining the health of the rail network.
This role is a great opportunity to join a large-scale rail operation and a highly skilled team in the successful delivery of operational and service activities. Working a 8 days on, 6 days off roster, reporting to the Superintendent Railway Operations-Construction, you will be accountable for the execution requirements to deliver planned and reactive works for the Construction train team.
In addition you are also responsible for the coordination of the following:
- For ensuring that train crews are positioned to meet the requirements of the track maintenance plan.
- To represent the Construction team at key maintenance planning meetings to create an accurate and achievable plan, while maximising the efficiencies of the plan.
- That all relevant accommodation and rostering requirements are pre-arranged and communicated to the relevant parties.
- The recovery of Ore cars that are damaged and require remedial works to make them fit for traffic,
- Fuel trains operation.
- Ballast trains (including ballast cleaner) operation.
- Rail train operation.
What you’ll bring

- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and legislative provisions.
- Achieve targets in terms of quality, cost effectiveness and productivity of operations as indicated in performance measures such as compliance with safe work procedures and identification of potential safety hazards and non-compliances.
- Share knowledge, coach and mentor other operators on all aspects of the role.
- Maintain and increase skills and route knowledge in line with business needs
Sound knowledge of Rail Operations requirements is essential.

Where you will be working
We operate 200 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals. The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometres with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.
