We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Coordinator’s to join the Drill & Blast teams across our Pilbara Mine operations.

This role presents a great opportunity for an individual with strong leadership and well-developed communication skills to work within a dynamic open pit mining environment. You will undertake a range of support activities to assist the Supervisor’s and enable them to lead the team in a safe and efficient manner. You will actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost, and production.

Opportunities exist for FIFO candidates located in Perth or any of our regional hubs including Busselton, Albany, and Geraldton.

These opportunities are available on a combination of day shift and nightshift rosters which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.

Reporting to the Supervisor you will:

  • Conducting work area inspections including ammonium nitrate facilities and safety interactions with team members throughout shift to continuously improve safe workplace & behaviour

  • Preparing drill pattern and blasting activities

  • Meeting the requirements of the mine plan in Drill and Blast activities

  • Support the supervisor in ensuring the safety of the team and comply with all critical standards and participate in the use of safety tools such as Take 5

  • Undertaking acting duties when the supervisor is absent and liaising with other departments in a professional manner for best business outcomes

  • Well informed, trained and very knowledgeable of mining standards practices and procedures in Western Australia

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Demonstrated experience in mine site drill and blast, shotfiring and earthmoving operations

  • A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)

  • WA shot firer's licence – preferred, or able to attain

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
