In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our Telfer gold-copper mine is our fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising both open pits and an underground mine. While at site, Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities, including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room and refurbished communal eatery.
Key Responsibilities:
We are searching for a resilient and motivated Drilling Coordinator to lead the team within the Geology department at Telfer. You will report directly to the Drilling Operations Specialist and champion a culture of continuous development within the team. You will also be responsible for the following:
- Coordinating drilling, providing sufficient drilling equipment and preparation of the sites are in line with the drilling schedule.
- Supervising and assessing drilling contractors
- Validating daily drilling plods and monthly drilling invoices
- Compiling daily, weekly and monthly drilling physicals for reporting
- Record, analyse and report drill rig productivity performance.
- Comply and generate awareness of the site’s standards and procedures in Safety, Health, Environment & Community (“SHEC”)
- Demonstrate leadership by providing clear expectations on performance in SHEC and setting objectives and KPIs in SHEC for all our drilling contractors.
- Mentoring geological staff on drill safety and operation
- Working alongside key stakeholders such as Geologists, Engineers, Mine Superintendents, Core Tech’s and Pit techs
This is a permanent full-time role at our Telfer mine site, FIFO from Perth, on an 8 days on /6 days off roster.
About you:
- Strong experience in Drilling within a mining environment
- Be computer literate and have a strong understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong people and communication skills
- Ability to work in an unsupervised environment
- Underground and open pit induction
- Hot works and Working at Heights certified
- Full Class C Driver's License
- Forklift ticket
