About The Role:
An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Coordinator - Emergency Services at our Narrabri Mine. This role will undertake tasks and activities to support the safe and efficient operation of the Underground and sections of the Surface parts of the mine (CHPP and Surface firefighting equipment). The role of the Emergency Services/Compliance Coordinator is to maintain, supervise, monitor and review the mines emergency and compliance procedures forming part of mining operations at the mine. This is achieved through implementation of standards and management plans at the operation.
What You'll Do
- Undertake statutory inspections (when required) in accordance with coal mining legislation (Deputy Certificate) and ensuring compliance with the Mine's WHS management system.
- Proactively communicate, monitor, advise and report on the improvement and compliance towards WHS responsibilities.
- Maintain mining standards in all areas of accountability including: Firefighting equipment and services compliance, lifeline/ self-escape compliance including SCSR caches and CABA equipment.
- Monitor statutory compliance to the obligations of the PCBU at the mine in the aspect of mining practices.
- Coordinate Mines Rescue brigade’s members and maintain compliance.
- Coordinate Fire team’s members and maintain compliance.
What You'll Bring
- Proven track record in operational management of a modern Underground environment.
- Worked within a multi-discipline environment where priority setting is a recognized responsibility.
- Certificate of Competence – Fire Officer Appointment.
- Practicing certificate - Deputy of underground coal mines.
- Ability to work in management roles and proven record.
