This role will be reporting to the Manager - Workplace Health and Wellbeing.  You will be part of professional and dedicated Health & Wellbeing team, working between our offices in Hazelmere & Canning Vale.

This role will be responsible for the management of injuries, coordination of medical treatment, rehabilitation and return to work programs for work related and non-work-related illness & injuries, assisting our operations & resourcing teams with pre-employment medicals, provider management and key project work within the Health & Wellbeing team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as a specialist advisor/internal consultant to partner with key stakeholders in delivering effective injury and workers compensations claims management
  • Support Perenti Contract Mining Operations and project leaders in the effective implementation of the business Injury Management System
  • Coordinate workplace injury rehabilitation through proactive medical management and the development & monitoring of return to work programs
  • Effectively managing and processing of workers compensation claims.
  • Act as a key contact for employees, internal stakeholders, external treatment providers, allied health professionals and insurers
  • Maintain accurate, timely and up-to-date injury management records and utilising the Injury Management database
  • Participate in the development of business reporting
  • Be available for calls or call out response as reasonably required
  • Attend employee medical appointments to ensure timely and effective case management
  • Communicate to relevant Perenti Contract Mining personnel on the medical & return to work status of injured employees
  • Review and advise on pre-employment medicals
  • Day to day management of service providers
  • Manage and report on key Health & Wellbeing team projects
  • Facilitate and assist with additional Health & Wellbeing Programs
  • Attend mine site visits as required

Key Requirements:

  • Have an Allied Health qualification - Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, or similar is essential
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a high level of integrity and discretion
  • Have demonstrated experience in injury management processes
  • An understanding of Workers Compensation Claims Management will be highly regarded
  • Utilise strong planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Have the ability to influence, engage and work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups of internal & external stakeholders
  • Have strong prioritisation, organisational and task management skills
  • Experience in the Mining and Resources Sector will be highly regarded
  • Have a current valid Driver’s License - Class C
