About the Role
Reporting to the Logistics & Roads Supervisor, you will be responsible for the coordination of all movements of plant / SME required for the Flashbutt Welding & Maintenance teams, between Port Hedland and Newman.
- Ensuring the promotion of safe working conditions and adhering to safety processes and procedures within the work group;
- The overseeing of servicing requirements for all LVs and SME (BHP-owned assets and hired assets) including raising notifications in 1SAP for faults identified;
- The management of Truck Drivers and Operators carrying out the daily transportation of equipment and materials, as well as operation of machinery in conjunction with Flashbutt Execution teams;
- Management of vehicle allocation to work groups;
- Liaising with external maintenance / servicing companies and ordering of critical tooling and parts;
- Liaising with contracting and labour hire companies, coordinating team safety meetings and contributing to contractor management meetings;
- Daily adherence to 1SAP / work management requirements, including time confirmations on planned and break-in work, raising and approving new work notifications, and raising hazards identified by the work group;
- Supporting the management of the Flashbutt Yard OTP and Rail Journey Management (where required);
- Reporting on hire machinery hours for servicing purposes;
- LV and SME Tyre management
About You
You will become an integral part of the logistics team and is someone who enjoys being busy and working in a team. Your time management and decision-making skills will be second to none.
You will have:
Previous experience in managing logistics activities or related transportation activities
Experience in supervising multiple workgroups
Knowledge in rail networks and/or rail equipment is highly regarded
An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail whilst being able to work under pressure
Strong IT literacy
Experience in using 1SAP, in particular, raising notifications and time confirming
