The purpose of the Maintenance Coordinator role is to provide technical expertise and oversee the maintenance activities of a specified area across all rosters. They ensure the optimal allocation of resources over the daily to week 1 planning horizon such that the required work at Worsley is completed in a coordinated manner and in compliance with the relevant safety and technical standards.

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes – bus available from Bunbury location only) and other nearby scenic communities. As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie. |
Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities are to:
- Work safely within the South 32 Care Strategy including establishing and maintaining an interdependent safety culture within the team including the delivery of improvements in safety performance
- Ensure that detailed information is captured and communicated across all teams
- Collaborate with production counterparts to identify plant-wide priorities and ensure plant activities are coordinated and executed safely, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner
- Actively contribute to forecasting and scheduling of maintenance activities and projects in the daily and week 0 -1 planning horizon, pro-actively identifying opportunities for reduction in backlog
- Ensure execution of work to schedule and minimise unscheduled work
- Communication of plans & priority to ensure appropriate personnel are informed of the direction in maintaining a focus on safety, plant integrity, and maximizing plant availability
- Provide input to and approve suitability of detailed plans for the area on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership, expertise and direction to a Maintenance Execution team within an operation area to ensure delivery against plans.

- Excellent communicator with all levels of the teams; comfortable with written, spoken or electronic media
- Ability to provide technical knowledge and practical advice to support and coach employees
- High level of computer literacy and understanding of the existing SAP System; a comprehensive knowledge of the various software packages
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance activities within the Mining / Refinery industry
- Knowledge of the Bayer Process and Refinery equipment
- Knowledge of fixed plant equipment and the maintenance of it.
