ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Superintendent Execution, as Maintenance Coordinator, the purpose of this role is 3 dimensions; 1. Lead maintenance planning teams (mechanical, electrical, services and operations)

1. Work in tandem with maintenance supervisors and engineers to ensure best practices in maintenance execution and safety are consistently followed
2. 2IC to Fixed Plant Superintendent. This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Work safely within the South 32 Care Strategy including establishing and maintaining an interdependent safety culture within the team including the delivery of improvements in safety performance
• Ensure that detailed information is captured and communicated across all teams
• Collaborate with production counterparts to identify plant-wide priorities and ensure plant activities are coordinated and executed safely, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner
• Actively contribute to forecasting and scheduling of maintenance activities and projects in the weekly and long-term planning horizon. identifying opportunities for reduction in backlog

ABOUT YOU 

• Meets defined behavioural expectations.
• High level of computer literacy and understanding of the existing SAP System; a comprehensive knowledge of the various software packages
• Ensure that detailed information is captured and communicated across all teams

Qualifications for this position are:

• Provide input to the maintenance 1 – 3 week planning and scheduling horizon process and ensure all maintenance work is designed to standards and delivered to the supervisor to execute effectively
• Come from a maintenance background in a similar role
