About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Port Maintenance at BMA Hay Point Terminal, you will support the Maintenance Fixed Plant Electrical Infrastructure at the terminal. As the electrical Maintenance Coordinator your duties include (but are not limited to);Coordination, monitoring and reporting of equipment reliability performance, resource scheduling and assist with Prioritisation of outages and execution. In this role you will demonstrate a personal commitment to continuous improvement through supporting the Supervisory team in their day to day tasks including the optimal utilisation of all resources through effective management of labour use and materials.

This position is offered as a 4/3 12hr  Roster - this role is open to Mackay region residents only as this site does not provide for FIFO or camp.

To be successful in this role the candidate will need to address the following criteria:

  • An overriding commitment to the BHP Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development;

  • A current equivalent Queensland Manual Driver’s Licence;

  • Current QLD Electrical Fitter/Mechanic License;

  • Electrical Supervisory experience;

  • Solid experience with Fixed plant

  • High Voltage Switching Operation Qualification;

  • Excellent understanding of AS3000, AS3008, AS3017;

  • Sound knowledge of Statutory compliance – Qld Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations;

  • Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results through using your influence.

  • The ability to successfully lead and work within a team environment and build effective working relationships across multiple trades and departments.

  • Experience with 1SAP or the ability to learn and operate work management software tools;

  • Demonstrated computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) 

  • With a focus on availability, reliability and quality maintenance, your technical strengths will be complemented by well-developed communication skills.  

  • Electrical Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering highly desirable.

  • Cert IIV and IV in Instrumentation and Control highly desirable.
