Due to growth within our teams, we have FIFO and residential opportunities across the Pilbara for Coordinators within our Plant Shutdowns team.
This role is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic, positive attitude & mindset, who are self-motivated and who value personal and others’ safety above all else.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, supported by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on an 8 days on, 6 days off, roster (with some nightshift) which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Supervisor Plant Shutdowns, you will:
Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
Appointment as Statutory Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26
Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Fixed Plant Shutdown
Pro-actively coordinate and support planned shutdown execution activities
Provide technical and safety support to shutdown supervisors and maintainers
Provide coverage for Supervisor when on leave/absent
Expert in maintenance systems such as SAP, Critical Orders, warranty, work and shutdown management
Prioritise emerging and break in work in shutdowns by coordinating logistics, labour and materials
Assist with CMS when required
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
A current C Class driver’s license
Relevant trade qualification (mechanical, electrical, fabrication), preferred
Demonstrated Fixed Plant knowledge and experience
Experience in Daily work management systems; SAP and Prometheus
Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing, and coaching team members
Strong communication skills and be comfortable liaising with various stakeholders
Be highly self-motivated and being able to demonstrate a history of continuous improvement

Where you will be working
Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
Western Turner 2 is located 30km West from the town of Tom Price, currently employing fly in fly out employees from Boolgeeda Airport and residing at the Nammuldi Campsite.
