About BMA Goonyella

Goonyella Riverside is a large open cut coking coalmine in the Bowen Basin located 30km north of Moranbah. Goonyella Riverside Mine utilises both Dragline and Truck & Shovel stripping methods to uncover 3 seams of coal and is processed through 2 prep plants. Pioneering autonomous haulage in open cut coal mining we are continuing to position our operation as a global leader in innovation and technology in the mining industry.

About the Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive candidate to join our Production Processing team as the Processing Coordinator at Goonyella Riverside.

Reporting directly to the operational CHPP Processing Superintendent, this position is central in coordinating optimal throughput by collaborating with internal processing, mining, planning and logistics teams and develops plans to ensure that the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) achieves safety, production, efficiency and quality targets.

This 7/7 dayshift only role is located at Goonyella Riverside with flexible travel arrangement options.

In this role you will:

  • Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with customers and key stakeholders across the business;
  • Foster our positive culture with a focus on identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement through reduced costs through maximising recovery, minimising down time and eliminating waste;
  • Support and encourage strong levels of engagement to drive our site safety and performance;
  • Coach and mentor process team members;
  • Develop short term production plans to maximise equipment utilisation achieve quality targets;
  • Work closely with Mining, Operations, and Coal Laboratory to ensure optimised, efficient coal flow;
  • Coordinate with internal and external Logistics and Port teams to ensure railed coal meets shipping requirements;.

About You

As the ideal candidate you can demonstrate experience in coal mining, processing or logistics fields within the industry, having had experience in leading and/or enabling teams.

Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will support you in maintaining cross-departmental engagement and effective communication throughout multiple levels of the business from mining to port. Your passion for inclusion and collaboration will help drive and support an already positive workplace environment.

To liaise with a variety of stakeholders, it is important you are a confident verbal and written communicator. In addition, your strong problem solving skills, as well as a high level of motivation and drive will assure you are able to identify and deliver projects to optimise CHPP operation in terms of Safety, Volume, Cost and Culture.
