About The Role

The Projects and Infrastructure Coordinator will provide engineering support to the Maules Creek Coal Maintenance department through the management of new projects and existing site infrastructure. You will facilitate initiatives to improve the overall department performance while ensuring delivery is achieved in a cost-effective, timely and safe manner. This is a local Gunnedah based role which requires the successful applicant to either live in or relocate to the region. Whitehaven offers support and great relocation packages.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure projects prioritise safety by encouraging proactive work to reduce the need for potential high-risk tasks and focusing on minimising exposure of personnel to hazardous tasks
  • Develop and report on a master schedule of approved projects and infrastructure, to meet the long term planning requirements of the Maintenance Department
  • Ensure that consultation with key stakeholders is undertaken prior to finalising the scope of approved projects and infrastructure, including liaising with external professional service providers as required 
  • Project manage the planning and scheduling of approved projects and infrastructure into any short term planning tools currently used by the Maintenance Department
  • Ensure that approved projects and infrastructure are suitably scoped and budgeted, according to existing Maules Creek financial timeframes

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate (as relevant) or Undergraduate degree (Bachelor) qualification in Engineering
  • Familiarity with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations and Australian Standards
  • Relevant experience in the mining or heavy industry environments
  • Demonstrated ability in managing engineering projects
  • Current Drivers License
