About the Role
Rail has a financial year with set outages where sections of the rail network are shut down for maintenance activities. These are approximately 15 per year and each one is allocated to an outage coordinator.
Reporting to the Superintendent Rail Renewals Execution, the Coordinator is required to plan the scope of the outage, determine the scope of works to be executed and coordinate between the different work groups to complete the outage safely. This includes developing the overall outage schedule, the rail network possession limits and manage the allocated Protection Officers to establish the safe working system.
- Collaboration with large number of stakeholders
- Developing network plans and understanding of how the railway line operates
- Developing outage schedules and plans that stakeholders can understand
- Facilitating meetings/routines effectively
About You
- Current Australian C/CA Class license.
- Good planning skills and the ability to oversee projects to successful completion.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft applications, 1SAP and planning systems.
- Experiencing managing a program of rail maintenance/shutdown works
- Proven experience with inter-departmental communications with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create, present and clearly articulate plans to a large audience
- General understanding of the Code of Practice.
- Administration and prioritisation including time management capability.
- Sound judgement including balancing competing issues.
- Ability to identify risks and implement controls to manage them.
- Risk management in rail track works.
- Sound knowledge of Railroad Operating Rules and industry standards (safety and quality).
- Planning and executing track works
