About the Role
Reporting to the Supervisor Track Maintenance, you will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the Track Maintenance teams and the safe execution of daily and weekly work schedules.
This role will be based at Redmont, FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 roster.
Daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Taking responsibility for identifying and resolving problems, and for assessing the potential impact on the rail system and to key stakeholder groups;
- Leading and coaching team members in the active pursuit and achievement of maintenance and productivity targets with a commitment to Field Leadership;
- Liaising with planners in the development of daily, weekly and monthly plans & reviewing ongoing planning activities;
- Liaising with key stakeholders and various other departments as priorities change, throughout the day and shift;
- Daily prioritisation of work including but not limited to- Daily plant and personal allocations, Managing servicing requirements for all LVs and SME;
- Scoping/planning of tasks, including materials-machinery and resources required to safely execute the task;
- Ensure standards are adhered to and work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner. Ensuring hazard/risk identification during establishment of execution methodologies, development of required controls and verification that identified controls are in place and working;
- Daily adherence to 1SAP / work management requirements, including time confirmations on planned and break-in work, raising and approving new work notifications, and raising hazards identified by the work group;
- Having an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess:
- Certificate 2 or 3 in rail infrastructure - essential
- Minimum of a C class manual licence. HR manual drivers licence is advantageous.
- Proven commitment to safety along with strong leadership skills.
- Have the ability to drive high standards of performance and safety within your team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on employee engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to plan work, allocate resources and monitor progress.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and proactively implementing them.
- Ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively
- Proven understanding and proficient in the use of SAP work management including but not limited to, time confirming, attaching documents, scoping and approving notifications, work management.
