About the role   

We are looking for an Operator Cranes & Transport to promote safety awareness and safe work practices at the Dampier Port Operations. This residential role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational skills expertise to make a difference to the team. This opportunity is a residential role (5/5/4 Hybrid shift rotational roster consisting of days and nights) and reporting to the Cranes and Belts Supervisor, you will be:

  • Operating various slewing cranes and non-slewing cranes such as Leibherr LTM1150, LTM1300, and Terex25 in single shifts

  • Transporting various sized equipment across site and local areas

  • Assisting with rigging duties when required

  • Operating and carryout routine inspections of the crane

  • Raising notifications for equipment issues and utilization of SAP daily

  • Actively using safety system and tools to ensure the safety of yourself and others

  • Working in a team environment and contributing to daily targets

  • Working with the maintenance teams across the site as required

What you’ll bring    

To be considered for this role, you will have: 

  • An Australian "HR" Class Driver’s License, “HC” Licence desirable

  • High risk work license with the following classes - CO, CN, RI, LF

  • Previous experience on Liebherr Cranes

  • Basic SAP experience preferred

  • A passion for the safe execution of work

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

  • A desire to relocate to Karratha

Where you will be workingOur four independent shipping terminals at two locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier, are managed as a single port system. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, product stockpiling and blending, and ship loading. Employees reside in Karratha which is located 1,527km north of Perth in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Karratha is a family friendly, community driven town boasting pristine sandy beaches and excellent fishing/camping with having the incredible Dampier Archipelago at your doorstep.
