About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Crew Leader to join our Pot Rooms department on site at Bell Bay Aluminium. The crew leader is responsible for setting and maintaining the direction of the Crew, providing coaching and feedback to crew members and leading the crew to deliver specific quality and quantity of output in a safe, agile and effective manner.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced crew leader to further develop their skills and experience whilst fostering a collaborative team culture on site.
Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well.
Reporting to the Superintendent and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:
- Leading the Crew in a way that ensures that the performance of the team safely meets or exceeds plan;
- Leading the Crew in a way that ensures that the plant is operated according to procedures in line with specifications and area requirements
- Conducting required audits and inspections to a high standard, and for the purpose of reinforcing a strong HSE culture and systems;
- Ensuring targets are consistently achieved in a safe sustainable/ timely manner and with maximum customer satisfaction;
- Developing relief Crew Leaders;
What you’ll bring
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy including exposure to Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP
- Ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
- Experience in the Aluminium industry would be advantageous
- A passion for people and values-based leadership
- Experience or ability to lead a team to achieve results safely
