We are seeking a passionate Crew leader for the Carbon shift based at our Launceston site. If you have a great blend of technical and interpersonal skills- this could be your next big opportunity to lead with impact with a focus on continuous improvement and development of the team.

This role is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career. Working a 12-hour shift day/night roster and reporting to the Superintendent Carbon Operations you will be:

  • Supporting and leading a small team across all three sub areas within the Carbon department Green Carbon, Rodding room and Carbon Baking furnace.
  • Ensuring site safety and operational standards are adhered to within your team.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for your team
  • Reporting safety incidents, near misses and quality issues
  • Communicating safety and quality alerts to the production team.
  • Conducting daily toolbox meetings with the production team
  • Monitoring, understanding, reporting, and recording operational KPI’s for your team.
  • Liaising with Asset management team/ Peer to work through operational issues in a timely manor and escalating when required.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A proven record of delivering outstanding safety performance.
  • Demonstrate Proactive and Positive leadership skills that result in an effective, engaged team.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence, and build credibility and trust across all levels of the organisation
  • The desire to work with the operations, technical and leadership team to improve the quality and operations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to trouble shoot and perform under limited supervision.
