Crew Trainer

Job Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Risk

• Comply with SHMS
• Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices
• Stop the job if an unsafe act or condition is observed and empower subordinates to do the same
• Comply with Macmahon incident management procedures especially ensuring notification, reporting and investigation timeframes are achieved
• Identify risks and hazards within work area and notify supervisor

Technical/Operational

• Remain proficient on the operations they train/assess or work in consultation with a mentor/subject matter expert
• Operate machinery on which they are proficient as required within the production crew to ensure productivity, utilisation and mine planning targets are achieved
• Actively participate in professional development activities on an ongoing basis
• Conduct site training audits
• Ensure documentation is completed correctly, filed and archived as required
• Ensure training is entered and updated in the Learning Management System (LMS) database
• Ensure accurate details of trainees and the units they have demonstrated competency
• Manage all site workplace assessment activities
• Evaluate and report on all site training and education activities
• Consult with Supervisors/Leading Hands on training matters

Commercial/Financial

• Follow plans to reduce rework
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently to avoid damage or premature failure
• Perform duties in a cost effective manner
• Comply 100% to the supply chain process

People Management

• Supervise mentors and review training progress at regular intervals
• Identify training needs for all site personnel

Team Contribution

• Support employees and contractors to comply with all relevant policies and procedures
• Participate in problem solving investigations with teams as required
