  • Excellent work environment where people are valued and respected

  • This new role will expose you to exciting technology and challenge the way you work

  • Permanent position based in either Brisbane or Perth

About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are finding better ways to simplify our operations, expand our capability and improve productivity, to do this we are embarking on an exciting journey that will transition us to a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform moving from an old, outdated technology (currently RTBS) to a new digitally enabled S/4 Hana and application ecosystem.

An effective RTBS is a key enabler to Best Operator, given 30-60 per cent of our frontline time is spent in the system. To deliver this change we must ensure that we work closely with each of the Product Group’s (PGs) and Functions to modernise how we operate in the system. Consequently, this is not a technology led program, it is business led.

We are recruiting for a Data Governance Lead (Modern ERP) responsible for partnering across Data and Analytics, the Modern ERP Program in the developing (where needed) and implementing and operationalising of a data governance framework to sustainably mature the data quality and management in the Modern ERP scope.

As our preferred applicant your work involves working closely with IS&T and GPO stakeholders to assess the current state of data governance within the program scope and implementing actions to close gaps to meet program outcomes whilst being integrated into the enterprise framework that will be sustained during and beyond the program.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data & Analytics ERP Workstream Lead, working in a collaborative and exciting environment within Modern Enterprise Resource Planning, your work scope covers:

  • Data Governance Framework: Assess current and future state requirements of a Data Governance Framework (and its components, e.g., data quality, ownership, lifecycle, security) for Modern ERP scope that considers enterprise goals and foundations that will be sustained beyond the program - including roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for data stewardship and data ownership. Leverage or develop the necessary components of the enterprise framework to integrate Modern ERP objectives and achieve the necessary timelines of the program.

  • Data Stewardship and Training: Establish and manage a network of data stewards and owners across the organisation to ensure sustainable data management practices and ownership by the business. Provide training and guidance to broader business (as needed) on data governance policies, standards, and best practices. Promote a culture of data governance and data literacy throughout the organization (as relevant to program).

  • Data Quality Management: Partner with Data Stewards and Owners to define and implement data quality standards and processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data. Oversee data cleansing, data profiling, and data validation activities. Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to resolve data quality issues and ensure continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business, IS&T, legal, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on data governance goals and practices. Work with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders to establish and maintain data definitions, data lineage, and data cataloguing. Facilitate the integrated plan for Data Governance for the program, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.

  • Technology and Tools: Partner with the D&A core team to evaluate and implement data governance tools and technologies to support data governance processes relevant for the program (e.g., data catalogues, data quality tools, metadata management solutions). Collaborate with IS&T and business teams to ensure that data governance requirements are integrated into the data architecture and data management systems. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data governance, privacy, and security.

  • Reporting and Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and tracking to program deliverables.
