Data Scientist
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday - Friday
Key accountabilities will include:
- Create automated processes to load and operate on complex geo-scientific data sets
- Become an expert user of our in-house developed software
- Write python code to extend our in-house developed software
- Participate in the development process of our in-house developed software with product management and development responsibilities
- Support users of our in-house developed software by helping to diagnose issues and providing guidance and training
- Identify opportunities to apply machine learning to various data sets managed by our systems
Qualifications and skills required:
- Bachelors degree or higher in a scientific discipline
- Experience with Python programming
- Experience with using Python for data science
- Great communication skills will be essential
- Software development experience will be highly regarded but is not required
