Department Administrator

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday (and On-call Rotation)

Fortescue is seeking an enthusiastic and committed, experienced Department Administrator to join our Operations Planning Department. Reporting to the Administration Supervisor, the successful candidate will be an individual who prides themselves on their professionalism, proactiveness, attention to detail and effective organisational skills. 

This position is Perth-based, full time (Monday to Friday) with rotational on-call duties for ad-hoc coverage of after business hours and weekends. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support onboarding of new-starters and external stakeholders 
  • Action mobilisation, travel and accommodation requirements for team members, new starters and external stakeholders, including travel roster management and auditing/ reporting 
  • Raise purchase requisitions, support logistics and freight orders, process work orders and invoices 
  • Assist with team and department events planning and coordination (i.e. workshops, forums, etc.)
  • Day to day general administration and general support tasks (e.g. coordinating meeting facilities, meeting minutes, formatting of documentation, presentations, reports, intranet web content management) as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 24 months' experience in a similar role, experience within the mining industry is desirable
  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or similar (or demonstrated equivalent experience)
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP, experience with Serko or Workforce (or similar travel management system) is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to be organised, self-driven and motivated and solutions-focused 
  • Excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise work, managing competing deadlines to ensure tasks are completed with both accuracy and efficiency
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
