Our Opportunity
Work Location: Hedland Operations- Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. This role is located at the Anderson Point offices.
Roster: The roster is 4 Days On / 3 Off working on site in Port Hedland and 5 Days On / 2 Off working in the Perth office- FIFO ex Perth or residentially based in Port Hedland.
Reporting to the Engineering Port Projects Superintendent, this role will be responsible for project initiation and early engineering requirements of Fortescue’s Anderson Point Port Facilities Engineering projects portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Build initial scope of works, cost estimates and project timelines
- Update Fortescue’s Capital Management program with required information for port folio
- Run stakeholder engagement & approval sessions through all stages of EER projects
- Tender/Engage vendors and build project concepts as per stakeholder requirements
- Tender/Engage vendors and conduct early engineering for EER projects from finalised 3D concepts
- Track, support and oversee design vendors
- Work alongside Maintenance and Process Control Systems departments to ensure equipment and design for EER projects compatibility with current equipment and systems
- Raise notifications in SAP
- Provide information / Work with planners to ensure successful planning of EER project work orders
- Order and track long lead items
- Track project budgets with cost controllers and provide reforecasts
- Update Project tracking and provide updates
- Update master data, inspection checklists, redlines and other associated documents
- Identify improvement projects
- Manage Work Order Backlog
- Close out projects once completed
- Conduct Field Interactions on work groups to promote safe work practices
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 - 10 years experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment (preferred)
- 2 - 5 years experience in Project Management (preferred)
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
- Competency in SAP (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact at all levels
- Self-driven, willing to be flexible and the ability to demonstrate initiative without Supervision
- Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Current Driver’s License
