We are looking for enthusiastic Development Schedulers to manage the mine scheduling activities and provide support to the mine operations team to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the mine plan.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, working 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you will be involved in a variety of tasks including mine scheduling and machine allocations, grade control and production forecasting, generation of the stockpile schedule and compliance reporting, as well as:

  • Responsible for the dump progression designs and strategies
  • Coordinating and releasing designs on the 2 weekly plan development task trackers
  • Drive alignment between the daily operational planning, development, drill, and blast teams to effectively execute in a timely manner
  • Designing and coordinating the quarterly plan critical development milestones
  • Communicating with stakeholders to ensure all designs are executed safely and to standard
  • Play an active role in identifying and implementing mine planning improvements, cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.

What you will bring

The following qualifications and experience will set you up for success in this role:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A Mine Engineering Diploma or Degree, or alternatively you will have a degree or Diploma in Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying or Geology with a minimum of 3 years open pit mining experience
  • Practical experience within a scheduling or production engineering role
  • Working knowledge of mining and business software such as MS Office and Vulcan
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A current and valid C class manual driver’s license
