About the Role

The position, aligned with the Development Supervisor Program, has been created to provide the opportunity for those with interested in taking the next step into a leadership role. You will have all or a combination of strong leadership skills with/without mining experience, a Maintenance or Production mining background, or looking to move into processing with previous mining experience. The role will allow you to practically learn about our business and processing on the job whilst also enhancing the skills and behaviours necessary to lead and inspire teams, helping deliver value to our BMA asset and ultimately drive the success of BHP.

In this role you’ll be responsible for the daily operation of a coal processing plant, working across departments to safely deliver coal to our customers, thinking outside the box and looking to always improve the way we do things.

About you

You will have strong  leadership and team supervisory skills, with prior experience being directly responsible for a number of direct reports. The safety of your people and those around them will be a key priority. Having previous leadership experience in a similar environment such as heavy industry or similar will help you adapt quickly to the complexities leading in a mining environment can bring.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience in Port and Rail, Maintenance, Mine Control or Production or similar industry experience. Having a trade or engineering background will help but this is not an essential requirement of the role, your passion for developing and leading teams will be key.
