Dewatering Electrician Experienced 

Work Location: 

  • Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: Options for either 14D7R, 14D14R, or 7D7R ex FIFO from Perth or Busselton.

Reporting to the Water Services Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and repairs of the dewatering network electrical equipment across Solomon. This equipment includes the diesel generators, MIRI radio telemetry units, flowmeters, variable speed drives and electric bore pumps. The dewatering network is critical to dewater mine pits and provide raw water supply to end users.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Routine electrical servicing, maintenance, and repairs of VSDs, bore pumps, diesel generators, MIRIs and instrumentation
  • Priorities and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Diagnostics and fault finding

Education and Experience:

  • Grade WA electrical license 
  • Current C class WA driving license 
  • HRWL                                                                                                                                      
  • Dewatering and mining experience is essential
  • Current First Aid Certificate 
  • Certificate IV Instrumentation - UEE40411                                                                                
  • Experience in VFD and Miri Mapping                                                                                               
  • Experience in Power Generation and Fault finding                                                                                                 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment                                                               
  • Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate strong safety values
