About the Role

BHP is currently seeking to connect with Dewatering Electricians to join our Mobile Maintenance team at Newman on an 8 days on 6 days off (day shift only) roster FIFO from Perth or alternatively we offer residential and relocation options.  You will be required to work on a multiple range of equipment but mainly specifying in generators, pumps and trailers, you will utilize your technical expertise to execute improvement in order to mazminze tool time and improve productivity and safety outcomes.    

Dewatering Electricians will be responsible for:  

  • Electrical maintenance and repairs on diesel generators across the mine site
  • Statutory compliance testing as per mine regulations
  • Following specific maintenance programs and carrying out inspections on Dewatering equipment to include flow meters, level trolls and pressure transducers as required
  • Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard
  • Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies
  • Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections
  • Creating 1SAP notifications for repair and preventative work on fleet
  • Initiate updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment
  • Assisting in implementation of 5S, Safety improvement projects and standardized work
  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
  • Assist the Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work, and determining priorities
  • Executing tasks to a high standard and in a timely matter

About You

  • Cert III Electrical Trade Qualification
  • WA A Grade Electrical Licence
  • Valid Australian driver’s license
  • HV Switching ticket
  • Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3010
  • Prior experience working in a mining environment working on diesel generators and water pumps
  • Technical knowledge of PLC's, generators, HV/LVs motor and Citect systems
