About the Role

The Nickel West team at Mount Keith BHP are expanding and are looking for new team members to join their growing team. As a Dispatch Officer, you will work together with our onsite operations teams to optimise fleet coordination and works and liaise with other controllers to optimise production at our operations and across the value chain.

You will receive and dispatch calls from mining and fleet system teams and coordinate cases/works from relevant departments efficiently and effectively managing mine and fleet systems.

You will work in an environment which is dynamic and striving to continuously improve performance, and with this, you will be involved in continuous improvement projects to help us become even better! 

In this role you will:  

  • Develop and foster positive relationships with our site operations
  • Gain exposure to the whole supply chain, working with our other teams to optimise interfaces
  • Work within the fleet system and mine control system to manage work cases
  • Manage and optimise fleet coordination and processes to support and improve safety, production and cost outcomes for the business
  • Response and support during safety and fatigue events including management of safe operating behaviours
  • Work on an even time 7:7 12.5 hour shift roster 
  • Manage emergency works and calls as required
  • Liaise with pit and fleet teams to optimise stockpiles and trucks

About You

The successful candidate will display all of the key capabilities of a successful dispatcher with a commitment to personal and team safety, calm disposition under pressure, an enthusiasm to learn, full of initiative and a drive for performance.

Previous control experience or operator experience, within mining or other heavy industries will be highly regarded. You will have the capacity and ability to work 12.5hr rostered shift work patterns involving nightshift and weekend work,.

  • Current or recent experience working in Mine Control or Fleet Management as a dispatcher or mine controller is essential. 
  • Mining knowledge and experience working in a Mining Operation, or experience controlling using a Modular mining system.
  • Safety focused with a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory regulations and organizational requirements.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure using your skills in prioritisation and problem solving with the ability to work across a diverse work group;
  • You will be a motivated individual who can use their relationship building and negotiation skills in order to influence others and achieve desired outcomes.
  • You will have a proven track record of applying work processes in a disciplined way to deliver results and respond to changes accordingly. 
  •  You will exhibit strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems.
