About the Role

As Dispatch Officer you will be responsible and accountable for the mine’s fleet management system (FMS) and the interactions with key operational stakeholders in line with site KPIs. You will be responsible for allocating and optimising the movement of manual equipment in an open-pit environment, managing the health of the mine model all while ensuring decisions are made in line with site HSE policies.

This role has a family friendly roster of:7:7 day and night shifts.   Reporting to the Dispatch Coordinator you will demonstrate the following:

  • Coordinate the allocation of resources in conjunction with the mine production and maintenance supervisors. Ensuring production fleet and priorities achieve the daily targets as outlined in the 24hr mine plan
  • Ensure compliance to safety standards and procedures at all times. Understand and follow the site emergency procedures, and provide assistance during an emergency management response
  • Manage the health of the mine model as well as the integrity of delay codes
  • Provide a communication link between production, maintenance, planning and the operation of employees to minimise production and maintenance delays

About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:  

  • Previous mine control experience, working with fleet management systems
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operations in an open cut mining environment
  • Ability to make effective, intuitive decisions under pressure
  • Knowledge of mine workplace safety requirements and procedures
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills

Nickel West Mt Keith

Nickel West Mt Keith is located 460 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in the Northern Goldfields.  Nickel West Mt Keith is a surface mining operation with an open pit and concentrator plant.  The operation is surrounded by pastoral stations, with the nearest townships being Leinster and Wiluna.  There’s plenty to keep you entertained in the Mt Keith Village. Take the heat off the day and head to the pool – or join in a game of footy.  BBQ dinners are regularly held, and other social activities include movie nights.  Employees commute to and from Perth on a fly in / fly out roster.
