Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Dispatch Specialist is responsible for the running and management of the Mining Fleet Management System, with the aim of optimising the mining production through equipment utilisation and resource allocation and to support the mining team operationally to ensure all safety, environmental and production targets are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of Dispatch function for the Open Cut  and monitoring of all Mining Systems
  • Prioritising Fleet allocation in line with the weekly priorities;
  • Execute and achieve monthly forecast.
  • Optimise fleet productivity using Fleet Management System;
  • Ensure compliance to the Time Usage Model;
  • Perform Short-Interval Controls, and work collectively with the OCE/Supervisor to return production to planned rates;
  • Use FMS Data to Provide feedback to OCE/Supervisors on Operator compliance and proficiency. 

Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years previous experience in a dispatch position and previous experience in supervisory/ leadership position
  • Fleet management OEM qualification (Caterpillar, Leica, Modular or Wenco)
  • Strong knowledge of mining processes;
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Previous experience in the optimisation of Fleet Management Systems;
  • Experience at leading a team in a mining environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to continuous improvement
