Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Dispatch Specialist, the Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the running of the Mining Fleet Management System, with the aim of optimising the mining production through equipment utilisation and resource allocation and to support the mining team operationally to ensure all safety, environmental and production targets are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execution and optimisation of the weekly plan on a shift-by-shift basis;
  • Prioritising Fleet allocation in line with the weekly priorities;
  • Working closely with Shift Supervisors and Maintenance team to optimise fleet productivity using Fleet Management System;
  • Ensure compliance to the Time Usage Model;
  • Reduce No Operator delay duration;
  • Maximise Fleet Management performance by running optimised in appropriate circumstances as often as possible;

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a dispatch position;
  • Experience in an open cut coal or metalliferous mining prefered;
  • Fleet management OEM qualification (Caterpillar, Leica, Modular or Wenco)
  • Australian Driver’s License;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mining processes;
  • Experienced at prioritising competing tasks;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills;
  • High level of computer literacy;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and logical aptitude;
  • Ability to undertake work activities autonomously and in accordance with standards, rules and procedures.
