Disposals Logistics Officer

Work Location: Solomon. Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 2/1 + days only – FIFO ex Perth

Role overview:

The Disposal Officer position supports the Disposals Management function to recover best value of assets and materials approved for disposal. 

The successful candidate will be located in the Warehouse at the relevant site and required to move between sites at the direction of the Disposal’s Leadership team.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead stakeholder engagement across site, providing guidance on scope of disposal support and identification of opportunities, to realise value through financial returns, environmental gains or safety improvements.
  • Make informed decisions, in line with disposal guidelines, about the disposal method that provides the best outcome for Fortescue through sale, scrap, recycle or waste.
  • Work autonomously to facilitate on-site disposals, including large volumes of inventory, yard clean-up projects, plus support the removal or relocation of assets.
  • Demonstrate Fortescue safety culture including ensuring freight sent off site is fit for transport under Chain of Responsibility and Load Restraint guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to administration and governance guidelines with all disposals

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and focus on Health and Safety
  • Resource/Mining or Energy/Utility Sector Experience in an operational environment.
  • High Risk (Forklift) License and experience and minimum C Class Driver's License
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • SAP Experience highly regarded
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with Stakeholders internal and external to the business.
