Disposals Superintendent
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday - Friday
The Disposals Superintendent will recover maximum possible residual value from an asset that has reached the end of its useful life; and safely facilitate the removal of assets from sites that absorb valuable footprint and pose potential risks. The role manages a site-based team who manage material being removed from site and administration team who provide support from Perth.
The maintenance of strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, buyers and suppliers is a critical success element to the role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development and management of strategic planning and direction for disposal activities and priorities.
- Coordination of disposal of all capital assets including Mobile Equipment, Light Vehicles, Rail, Fixed Plant, Tyres/ Used Conveyor as well as Yard Clean-ups, obsolete and surplus Inventory
- Ensuring disposal activities are carried out in an ethical and auditable way that comply with governance guidelines.
- Influencing disposals to ensure all are executed in a manner that maximizes value returns to the business. This value may be financial, environmental or customer relationship based.
- Contract management of preferred vendors.
- Commercial negotiations with potential buyers including execution of sales agreements and stakeholder relationship maintenance across all parts of the business including all operational mines, port, rail, exploration,
Qualifications and Experience:
- Logistics Management and Change Management Experience
- Excellent consulting and facilitation skills and good analytical and business skills
- SAP experience desired
- Project Management and Statutory Compliance Experience
- Resource/Mining or Energy/Utility Sector Experience
- Business Improvement Experience (Six Sigma and/or Lean [Toyota Production System] Methodologies) and Operational Experience
