About the Role
Reporting to Production Engineering Superintendent, the draw control officer will plan and control daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved in an effective, efficient and safe manner in all level and /or sub level cave areas, and block caving areas.
The role is on a 7/7 roster, day shift.
Role tasks
- Checking and ensuring the validity of captured bogging data
- Monitor draw point conditions (Hang ups, fragmentation, water presence, etc) spot checking of actual draw locations versus planned locations. Maintain an ongoing database of drawpoint conditions.
- Maintain an ongoing database of available versus bogged tons on each draw point.
- Define, maintain and implement draw strategies in order to maximize both short- and long-term recoveries, taking into consideration access to draw points and times when draw points are blocked or inaccessible.
- Liaise with operations to supply info regarding daily available bogging points and quantities, as well as to receive feedback regarding bogging conditions.
- Ensure compliance to the Leinster Cave Management Plan and relevant BHP procedures and Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
About You
The successful candidate, will ideally possess the following:
- MS office (Excel, word, PowerPoint)
- Underground mining experience and familiarity with operational processes
- A high level education in mining, geoscience or a related discipline would be an advantage
