About the Role

We are seeking a Drill & Blast Operator – Miner Stope Blasting to join our Underground Production Team at Olympic Dam. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to safe and efficient drill & blast activities while supporting the achievement of production targets.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and charge production blast holes in accordance with plans
  • Conduct stope blasting activities safely and efficiently
  • Operate Production Drills M6C/E60S to provide leave coverage and peak loading support
  • Provide relief support across the department as required, including:
    • Ventilation tasks
    • Integrated Tool Carriers (ITs), and Loaders

Please note: This role is based at Olympic Dam and operates on a 7/7 day & night roster.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in underground hard rock mining
  • A current Blaster’s Licence, or the ability to obtain one
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Previous experience working with explosives (highly regarded)
  • Previous experience operating production drills (highly regarded)
  • A strong commitment to safety, including speaking up when risks are identified
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and maintain high attention to detail
