Drill Compliance Specialist

Work Location: Various operational Fortescue sites across the Pilbara 

Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth

The Drill Compliance Specialist’ primary role is to ensure that all drilling related service providers are adhering to the Fortescue Drilling Standard and applicable HSE standards and policies. This is a full-time role, rotating across various sites providing support to the site-based Hydrogeology and Geology drilling teams.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Promote the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs, associated equipment and personnel 
  • Ensure that all work areas, machinery, and work groups are audited regularly, addressing any gaps or non-compliances
  • Assist and advise both FMG and Contractor site Management on all drilling related safety and compliance related matters
  • Assist in investigation of incidents onsite
  • Conduct pre-mobilisation inspections of drilling plant and equipment

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years working with drilling equipment
  • Previous experience on a mine site
  • Previous fieldwork experience at supervision or higher level
  • Incident investigation and analysis skills (ICAM)
  • WHS or Drilling certification highly regarded 
  • Excellent communication skills required
