The Role
This position will be responsible for leading the day-to-day maintenance & service schedule of the Underground Drills and assisting in the supervision of all mobile maintenance personnel and all activities related to the underground drill rigs.
- Deliver Pre-start / handover: discuss equipment issues and drill rig maintenance priorities
- Test equipment, ensure safety compliance and report any faulty equipment, incidents and hazards
- Supervise, train and coordinate apprentice activities during drill rig repairs & servicing
- Maintain parts storage and re-order any necessary parts, ensuring workshop tools and equipment are in safe working order
- Raise purchase orders and obtain quotations to plan services & repairs from start to finish
- Take ownership for the underground drill rigs maintenance strategy and support the team to achieve common objectives
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant trade qualification (Engineering Tradesperson-Mechanical)
- Underground Mining experience with extensive drill rig experience (preferably Sandvik)
- Strong auto electrical knowledge and fault-finding skills
- Current, unrestricted C Class Drivers Licence (or equivalent)
- Working at heights, Air con and ozone awareness
- National Police Clearance (6 months validity)
