Drill Supervisor

Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

Roster: 2/1 (7D/7N/7R) – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

Eliwana is Fortescue’s active iron ore mine which include 143km of rail and a 30mtpa dry OPF. The mine has been built using the latest technology, autonomous trucks, and design efficiency.

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, this position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day drill activities and personnel, in order to ensure mine safety and production targets are achieved in an efficient manner.

Key accountabilities include: 

  • To supervise Drilling activities for maximum efficiency, while maintaining safety, environmental and heritage standards
  • Provide training, coaching & mentoring to Drillers and Drill technicians around Drilling Processes
  • Ensure work carried out by Drillers and Drill technicians is of suitable standard
  • Support and actively participate in delivery of the FMG Policies, Procedures and Safe Systems of Work
  • Maintaining and review of Drill consumable levels

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Experience working with D65 and Pit Viper drills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • WA C Class Driver's Licence
  • Senior First Aid desirable
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card desirable
