Job Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Risk

• Complete pre-start checks
• Attend and participate in PSI and safety meetings
• Safe and efficient operation of Drills
• Safe and efficient operation of HIAB and other mechanical lifting aids
• Safe operation of light vehicles and light trucks
• Inspect work area and equipment for hazards, damage and defects prior to commencing work
• Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices

Technical/Operational

• Ensure all relevant documents are submitted on time for processing
• Ensure drill consumables are managed, monitored and maintained for optimum performance and stock usages are recorded 
• Record all shift report data correctly and on time (i.e. bit numbers, hammer changes, lost GET, Drill Plods etc.)
• Maintain drill and other assets to a high standard and report all faults
• Ensure all hole locations, size, angle and depth are followed as per the drill map at all times to ensure optimal blasting results 
• Ensure each drill pattern is delineated as per procedure
• Report any issue to Drill & Blast Leading Hand or Supervisor 
• All duties as directed by the Supervisor

Commercial/Financial

• Operate machine in competent manner without causing damage to equipment
• Ensure work is done correctly the first time to the acceptable standard so there is no rework

Team Contribution

• Support employees and contractors to comply with all relevant policies and procedures
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities leading to safer workplaces, increased productivity and increased efficiencies 
• Communicates with and ensures cross shifts are aware of any issues and requirements and the job site is set up to a high standard at all times
