Instrumentation/Electrical Tradesperson

Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people

Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor at Christmas Creek, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs of the Ore Processing Facility in alignment with Fortescue procedures and WHS regulations. The role also involves shutdown execution, continuous improvement, apprentice mentoring, and providing any assistance on upcoming projects.

Key responsibilities include

  • Breakdown and preventative maintenance on the OPF (ore processing facility) assets
  • Daily inspections, repairs, and maintenance of fixed plant equipment
  • Diagnostics & fault finding, and scoping continuous improvement opportunities
  • Raising notifications and work orders, SAP
  • Modular and shutdown maintenance
  • Statutory testing and inspections
  • An understanding of AS3000, Work Health Regulations and Acts

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current WA 'A' class electrical workers license and High voltage Switching Certificate
  • Fixed Plant Maintenance Mining Operations Electrical trade background desireable
  • Understanding of PLC and control communication systems - specifically Profibus, Fieldbus
  • Certificate IV Electrical Instrumentation
  • Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed Drives
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems 
  • SAP experience desirable
