Title: Electrical Designer– Green Fleet Development

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)

Duration: 12-month fixed term contract

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Principal Design Green Fleet Development, we are presently looking for an Electrical Designer on a 12mth contract, which may lead into a full-time position.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Assisting the Electrical Engineers to convert sketches and drawings into formal high quality Electrical Drawings
  • Updating existing drawings to meet standards
  • Redrafting vendor drawings
  • Capturing As-Built drawings
  • Taking a lead in identifying mistakes and finding solutions
  • Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
  • Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
  • Providing regular updates to the Principal Design including work progress, risks, and priorities

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 3 years of electrical drafting experience
  • MicroStation/AutoCAD proficient (Or similar packages)
  • Has worked creating drawing to Tier 1 & 2 resources sectors standards
  • Solid understanding of drafting checks and processes
  • Sound knowledge of Electrical Schematic Drawings

  • Able to complete work under short time frames
  • Works well under minimal direction
  • Eye for detail and self-checks
  • Comfortable correcting Electrical Design mistakes/improvements
  • Demonstrated resource sector experience
  • Previous experience with Mobile equipment Electrical Drafting desirable
